Some thoughts on the priceless lessons my wife and I have been taught by our disabled son:
If you’re a regular reader of these weekly “diary” entries that I post to the Inner Sanctum, you will know that I usually date them according to the saint’s day on which they are written. Chances are, if you have a calendar on your wall, even if it’s a Catholic calendar, it will not say that today (August 30) is the feast of St. Margaret Ward.
Our annual sojourn with my wife's family in southern California is proving something of a challenge. For most of the time, most of us have been sick. Our children, proving more resilient and recovering sooner than their relatively fragile parents, have the family on a demanding boot camp regimen of beach and playground.
